Not only is it a compilation of military campaigns and key battles on land and at sea, but also a comprehensive exploration of Confederate strategy, tactics, and policy through the lives of the short-lived nation's leaders, soldiers, and citizens.

Podcast episodes will bring to life significant moments in the tragic experiment of the Confederate States of America and are designed to be listened to from beginning to end as a reference point for researching particular dates, campaigns, or time frames.

Though it existed for only four years, the Confederate States of America is a profound part of the history of the United States. From the Confederacy's inception in 1861 to the conclusion of the American Civil War in 1865, a complete account of the Confederacy's key people, places, and events will be covered. Episodes begin with the year prior to secession and the pivotal event at Fort Sumter in 1861 where the Civil War begins through the end of the war after the Confederate surrender at Appomattox in 1865 and beyond.
